Windows Ultra-Mobile PC under $1k

I stumbled across the Windows ultra-Mobile PC home page the other day.  What an awesome little computer!  I'm considering getting one and then keeping a full-size workstation in my office.  I could then get a cellular Internet card for the Ultra-mobile and remote into my workstation from anywhere on the tablet.  The price tag is excellent (under $1k while many other Tablet PC's can't break under $2k).  In addition, the hardware footprint looks ample, and size reasonable.  I guess good things really come in small packages.  I have to confess -- I had a terrible time lugging around my 10 lb Toshiba Satellite (which I otherwise love) with its' 17" screen all summer long.  Not to mention, Jules Allen took the time to notice and make fun (would I expect anything less?) while we were working together on a project over the summer.  I'm not willing to give that guy too much more rope to hang me with.

About President

I am the owner and President of estatic.org, Inc. -- a small software consultantcy based out of Saint Petersburg, Florida. I enjoy technology, the History Channel, golf, and trying a new beer for the first time. My wife and I recently spent the summer of 2006 living in Boston, MA. Technology really excites me -- I eat, sleep and dream about business and how technology plays a critical role in many business transactions most of the time. I've written this blog as an attempt to appeal to others who think in a similar way.
